Microsoft Security Essentials provides real-time protection for your home PC that guards against viruses, spyware, and other malicious software. . . Visit http://www.microsoft.com/security_essentials for details

NOTE: - All Outlook Express users running Windows XP should consider switching to another eMail client like Mozilla Thunderbird located at http://www.mozillamessaging.com/en-US/thunderbird/ ,or Windows Live Mail which is a free upgrade to Windows Mail from Microsoft, located at http://download.live.com/ Simply download and run the installer and DESELECT all of the programs EXCEPT the Windows eMail. It is not necessary to have a Hotmail or Windows Live eMail account to use this software. Microsoft is discontinuing upgrades, support & security patches for Outlook Express.

NOTE: - All Windows Vista users who are using the Windows Mail that was supplied as part of the Vista operating system should discontinue use of this software and replace it with another eMail client like Mozilla Thunderbird located at http://www.mozillamessaging.com/en-US/thunderbird/ , or Windows Live Mail, which is a free upgrade to Windows Mail from Microsoft, located at http://download.live.com/ Simply download and run the installer and DESELECT all of the programs EXCEPT the Windows eMail. It is not necessary to have a Hotmail or Windows Live eMail account to use this software. Microsoft is discontinuing upgrades and support for Windows Mail in Vista. NOTE that Windows Mail included in Windows Vista has a bug that makes it incompatible with our IMAP server, POP3 is the only safe way to use this program to access mail on our mailserver.

ALSO Users of all versions of Windows XP and earlier should replace their computers with new ones that run Windows 7 or Windows 8 as Microsoft is no longer supporting Windows XP as of April 2014. All earlier versions of Windows are currently unsupported. If you cannot replace your computer at the moment then you can run Google's Chrome web browser until April 2015. However, we STRONGLY RECOMMEND that any Windows XP systems at this point contain 4GB of ram.

Lastly Due to increasing spamming Internet Partners will no longer pass email messages containing zipfile attachments. Instead, if someone e-mails you a zip file you must save it to your desktop and RENAME it to have a .zip extension BEFORE you can extract it. Too many viruses today are propagating by emailing copies of themselves to victims gleaned from the computer they infect, the virus is placed in a password protected zipfile and the password is put in the spam, along with a "come on" message designed to entice the user to open the zipfile. The password protection prevents antivirus scanners from scanning for the virus.
